    October 30, 2021 1728 Views

Have you just come to know that you are an ideal candidate for undergoing Lasik Surgery in Punjab? If yes and you have gotten scheduled with the date of when you will undergo the surgery, then today’s blog is surely going to be for you.

Here in this blog, we are going to enlist some of the tips, which will help you to be prepared before visiting the Eye hospital in Punjab for the procedure:

Are you ready?

Let’s move to our blogs

Try To Stay Hydrated Before The Procedure

Before the surgery begins, you are required to consume a great amount of water. The importance of staying hydrated after the procedures lie in the fact that it will promote your healing process.

Did you know?

One of the short term side effects which people experience before the surgery is related to dry eye.

But! But! But!

If the individual increases his/her water intake to a significant level, then such side effects could be curbed.

Do Not Wear The Contact Lenses

Make sure that you are not wearing contact lenses before the procedure.

Notable Points!

The doctor will strictly prohibit you from wearing the lens one week before if you are intending for the soft contacts and one month before the hard contacts.

Why so?

It is because the wearing of the contacts can not only alter the shape of your cornea but it does also impact the results of the LASIK Procedures.

Wear The Comfortable Clothing

Do not wear what suits you, wear what comforts you during the procedure. Since you’ll be awake during the entire LASIK procedure, the first thing which matters a lot is wearing something comfortable.

Tip

Make sure you are wearing loose clothing which you can wear off easily by not letting them come in contact with the eyes.

Do Not Visit Us Alone

We know that you are strong enough, but for the medical concerns, we can not let you go home on your own and that particularly by driving yourself to your place.

Lasik is the procedure that involves the operation of the cornea. You will face difficulty in focusing on the way.

So it’s better to take someone along with you who would drive you home or take care of you during the procedure.

No Makeup, Please!

The doctors are not going to judge you based on your looks. They will only judge you based on your medical condition. Do not make the treatment process difficult for the doctor by wearing those makeup, perfumes or the lotions

Read all the terms and conditions of the procedure

Do not sign off the consent letter without reading it thoroughly. Make it ascertain that you have thoroughly gone through each of the terms and conditions. Alright?

It is for your good. If in case you have any doubt, then do ask the doctor at that time.

Final Comments!

If you follow all the above mentioned preparatory tips before undergoing the procedure, then nothing can stop your procedure to come out as successful.

So what exactly are the inclusions of the services and facilities when an effective Lasik Surgery in Punjab is to be performed.

Do not worry, if you do not know!

Where Is It Located?

Please Consider!

You have to take into account whether the Lasik centre is part of the eye hospital or not. It is because the surgeons serving in the in-hospital Lasik centres are the ones who have the quintessential experience to perform such surgeries.

Please Note:

It is to be confirmed whether the centre which the surgeon uses for undergoing the Lasik surgery had any infection outbreaks. If yes, then the next thing which you have to be assured of is whether the surgeon is following the unprecedented standards to make sure that the equipment to be used during the Lasik Surgery is sterilised.

What About The Equipment?

The ideal Lasik Centres do have all kinds of the diagnostic types of equipment like the following:

  • Pachymetry
  • OCT
  • Topography

If the Lasik Centre is well equipped, then one of the credentials for choosing an ideal centre should be checked.

Check For The Accreditations

If the particular clinic comes out to be accredited then you can find it to be trustworthy since it will provide you with both better and safe procedures. With this, you can also get assured whether the hospital follows the best practices or not.

The Nature-Friendly Staff

There could be many of the Lasik Surgery centres that treat you with a friendly approach when you visit them for the initial consultation. But no sooner than you get admitted there for the surgical process, the behaviour of the staff changes. You can get a clue of the behaviour by checking the testimonials on the centre’s website.

The Cost Package

You will be visiting so many LASIK centres to find out the best and the ideal one for you. So when you will be on your assessment mission, then do not forget to consider the cost package. If a Lasik Centre is charging you a huge amount, then you must ask them why they are charging an excessive amount. Are they providing you with some extra services? If yes, then what are those services?

Final Comments!

Since eyes are the most sensitive organs of our body and without these we are nothing. So when these are to be undergone in some kind of the treatment, then the right kind of the hospital should be chosen which does have obtained a high success rate and is equipped with all the desired and the latest facilities.

SMILE V/s LASIK Procedure

What are the differences & similarities between LASIK & SMILE Procedure?

    October 20, 2021 1449 Views

The Lasik Surgeries in Punjab are getting advanced with each passing year. The refractive surgeries which are commonly performed by the eye hospitals in Punjab include the following:

  • LASIK
  • PRK
  • Phakic IOLs
  • Corneal Inlays
  • Corneal strengthening procedures
  • Cataract surgery

Recent Welcome of SMILE

SMILE is one of the novel forms of the LVC (Laser Vision Correction). It is quite similar to LASIK, but still, it is different from LASIK.

Let’s Differentiate: LASIK V/s SMILE

Since the optometrists come across so many patients regularly who are interested in undergoing LVC, the doctors need to make sure that they have enough knowledge about both procedures so that they can help the patients to choose the right procedure to undergo. If you do not have the right knowledge about the same and want to have that, then read the following differences:

LASIK

SMILE

The Steps Of The Procedure Are Different

LASIK can be considered a two-step procedure.

Step 1:

In the first step, the thin corneal flap is created with either of the following:

Femtosecond Laser

Mechanical Microkeratome

Step 2:

The second step involves the lifting of the flap to reshape the corneal stroma so that the particular kind of ametropia can be treated. Afterwards, the flap is repositioned which acts as a natural bandage and allow them for rapid visual recovery.

Just like the LASIK Procedure, SMILE is also a two-step procedure that is accomplished with the following steps:

Step 1:

The first step involves the creation of two intrastromal cuts with the help of the femtosecond laser. Then the creation of the small opening will be intended so that the newly created lenticule can be accessed.

Step 2:

The second step involves the removal and the manual dissection of the lenticule.

Which Conditions Can Be Treated?

The sphere of the conditions to be treated by the LASIK procedure is considerably wide which includes all the following:

Myopia

Hyperopia

Astigmatism

SMILE is the condition which is used to treat:

Myopia from -1.00 D to -8.00 D with up to -0.50 D of myopic astigmatism.

The clinical trials to treat Astigmatism and Hyperopia has surely taken place, but these are still not in use to treat these conditions.

Similarity

Post-operative Courses

There is a giant similarity between the SMILE and LASIK procedures and according to which both of these have the same postoperative courses. The patients who undergo either SMILE or the LASIK procedure can experience early recovery.

Please Note:

LASIK patients can obtain the 20/20 vision on the day when the procedure is accomplished. But as far as the SMILE patients are concerned, these do have some time to achieve 20/20 results.

Final Comments!

The complications are usually not experienced from either LASIK or the SMILE. In case these come out, then they can get treated on their own.

If you are interested in finishing the dependency over the glasses or the lens, then it is high time that you consult with the doctors of the Mitra Eye hospital and the Lasik Laser Surgery.

How is Lasik Procedure performed at Mitra Eye hospital and Lasik Laser Centre?

    October 12, 2021 1481 Views

Mitra Eye Hospital and the Lasik Laser Centre – is one of the most recognized Eye hospitals in Punjab that has performed several successful Lasik Surgeries in Punjab. The first step involves the creation of the corneal flap with the help of some specialised instrument. Afterwards, the reshaping of the cornea is done with the help of the excimer laser.

Did you know?

The excimer laser is the primary tool in laser surgery which is crucial for the reshaping purpose. The reshaping is done when the middle layer of the cornea is removed.

How much of the total time is required by the procedure to get accomplished?

A total of 10 minutes is required for the accomplishment of the procedure with precision.

But! But! But!

The duration may differ following the following:

Type of the correction required to be done

The amount of the correction needed

What happens before the procedure?

Step 1:

Much before the procedure begins, eye drops are used for numbing the eyes.

Step 2:

After the patient has relaxed on the treatment bed, the eyelids are opened with extreme gentleness. And when this is done, then the flap making an instrument is positioned.

Step 3:

In the next phase, the surgeon will ask you to keep on focusing on the special fixation light. When this happens, then the surgeon will expose the middle corneal layer to make sure the flap is getting precisely folded away.

Step 4:

After that, the reshaping process will continue which requires you to make use of the excimer laser.

Step 5:

Myopia Treatment

For the treatment of nearsightedness issues, the flattening of the cornea is done which lessens the eye’s covering power.

The procedure is accomplished when the removal of the tissues from the middle is done more than what is present around.

Hyperopia Treatment

For the treatment of farsightedness, the steepening of the central cornea is done for the enhancement of the eye’s converging power.

Unlike Myopia treatment-oriented procedure, his procedure involves excessive tissue removal from the periphery and not from the centre.

Astigmatism Treatment

The treatment of astigmatism is done by making the cornea spherical.

For making the process come out accomplished, the pattern of the beams are changed which requires the tissue to be eliminated from the one direction itself.

Step 6:

Once the removal of the tissues is done in the required way. The repositioning of the corneal flap is done.

Why visit Mitra Eye Hospital and Lasik Laser Centre?

This is one of the best hospitals not because it claims to provide the best results from the procedures, but because no patient went away home without getting thoroughly glad about the results and the compassionate approach of the doctors in treating the issue.

You can cross-check our claims by reading success or happy stories.

Does it happen – LASIK does not come out successful in the first attempt?

    October 4, 2021 1507 Views

Did you know?

The Lasik Surgery in Punjab has emerged out to be a boon for those who were so much dependent on their contact lenses and the glasses to see clearly.

Mitra Hospital Is Proud

The doctors at Mitra hospital are proud to say that they have successfully achieved the target of satisfying more than 97% of the patients.

The patients who have undergone surgery from our Eye Hospital in Punjab never face the need to take that up again.

Case Studies

Case Study: 01

Sometimes It’s Not A Lasik Failure

What bothered the patient?

One of our patients named Shirodhara who aged 30 years visited us. She underwent LASIK surgery from some other eye-care centre. She approached us to get a second opinion as she was not satisfied with the procedure. We found the reason why she was dissatisfied and found that she had a residual minor number of -0.65 in both eyes. She told us that the number was -6 for both eyes before the procedure.

What did we find out?

After a thorough examination of her reports, we found out that the LASIK reports were completely fine and it was certainly not a LASIK Failure.

What did we suggest?

We did not feel the need to undergo the procedure all over again. And we hoped for things to get better with the lubrication only. And It happened.

Conclusion

Fluctuations in the Vision immediately after undergoing the Lasik procedure is completely normal. Sometimes, it is just patience that is required. It may or may not take one month for the vision to get normalised

Case Study: 02

Exceptional Case

What happened to him?

There was another patient of yours whose name was Magan. HE aged 35 years old. About a year and a half ago, he took up Lasik surgery. But recently he started facing the blurriness in the vision. He was disappointed with the clinic that performed the surgery and when to use it to get the right solution for it.

What did we find out?

On examining him, we found out that his right and the left eye were having reduced numbers of about -1.0D and -1.25D respectively. Nothing can be done other than performing the LASIK procedure again. To carry out the second Lasik surgery, we performed all the diagnosis tests on him.

How did we carry out the surgery?

The same old flap was tried to be lifted with the help of special instruments. With the help of the excimer laser, the flap bed was lifted following the eye power. After that, the flap was repositioned. Immediately after the completion of the surgery, the patient was listed with several dos and don’ts.

Conclusion

In exceptional cases, the patients may need to take up the LASIK Surgery all over again. And those exceptional cases only happen if you count on the unprofessional and non-trained doctors for undergoing the surgical procedure.

What are the types of LASIK surgery and what about the surgery outcomes?

Eye treatment in Punjab

In some individuals, it is normal to experience vision or eye-related issues like nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism. For all these issues, refractive surgery is the best choice for the patients. If you are diagnosed with any sort of eye problem or you are noticing any change in your vision, then you need to schedule your initial consultation at the best Eye Hospital Punjab. Lasik Surgery in Punjab is the most preferred type of surgery for the patients to feel better and deal with the vision problem for once & all.

What is LASIK?

LASIK is known as ‘Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis’. It is a type of laser eye surgery that is effective for addressing vision-related issues. During the surgery, the cornea is reshaped which allows the light to enter the right place giving you clear vision. In total, it takes around 15 to 20 minutes to do the surgery. It does not cause any pain and is one of the effective surgical options to correct vision.

What are the types of LASIK Surgery?

LASIK surgery has different types, and depending on your condition, the surgeon will suggest you the best choice:

  • LASIK

LASIK is one of the most popular options in which a hinged flap is created by using a sterile blade. Following that, the surgeon will use a laser which helps in removing the cornea’s thin layer.

  • IntraLASIK

IntraLASIK surgery uses the laser to cut & reshape the cornea. It means, there is no use of blades in this procedure.

  • Wavefront LASIK

One of the advanced methods in which 3d scan is used and the technique of doing this is accurate. The results of this procedure will allow you to have 20/20 vision after the procedure.

What happened before the LASIK surgery?

Initially, the doctor will check your eyes to better evaluate your eye health and whether you are a suitable candidate for the surgery or not. The eye doctor will check the following:

  • Pupil size
  • Cornea shape
  • Eye cornea thickness
  • Refractive errors
  • Eye moistness
  • Any other eye condition

The doctor will share certain guidelines which you have to follow before the surgery so that when you undergo the surgery there is not an issue.

What happens during LASIK surgery?

The doctor will inject local anesthesia that helps in reducing any discomfort or any medication. Once the eyes become numb, under the laser the eyes will be positioned, and the eyelid is kept open with the use of a lid speculum instrument. To prevent eye movement, the doctor will use a suction ring.

On the flap creation and peeling it back, the surgeon will use the laser to adjust it properly. The doctor will ask you to look at the light for some time, and the surgeon will see that under the light. Following that, the corneal tissue is shaped again, and the flap is put back.

What about the LASIK surgery outcome?

Healing is rapid. For the first few days, the vision is hazy or blurry. In most cases, the patient has a clear and improved vision within a few days of the surgery. Moreover, the need for contact lenses and glasses are not needed.

If you want to undergo the surgery, then get in touch with our eye expert to plan for the treatment for your condition.

What is Contoura Vision? How is it different from Lasik Surgery?

    September 13, 2021 5059 Views

According to the reputed doctors practising in the famous eye hospital in Ludhiana, “With the advent of the contoura vision, the eye surgical procedures are now recognized for being complications free and effective. This surgery provides the precise results as compared to the normal laser surgery.”

Did you know?

If you want to undergo either the contoura Vision or the Lasik Surgery in Punjab, then no hospital can provide you with the unbeatable services as Mitra eye hospital.

In this blog post, we intend to answer all the questions which people want to ask regarding Contoura Vision.

What is Contoura Vision?

This is one of the most advanced LASIK techniques which can be deemed as the upgraded version of Lasik Surgery. Lasik Surgery is about 15 years old.

When we compare this with the Lasik procedure, then it is one step ahead of it as it also facilitates the patients with all the following unlike Lasik:

1. Treatment of the Corneal Irregularities

2. Attainment of the better outcomes

Can we detect contoura vision?

With the following techniques, it is possible to detect the following:

  • Corneal Topography
  • Slit Lamp Examination

Is there any permanent effect of the contoura Vision?

When we are talking about contoura vision, then we are talking about the technique that permanently eliminates the surface tissues present in the cornea. Because of that, it can be possible to attain the results for a long time.

Which procedure is followed to achieve the results?

It follows the tomography principle. The procedure is carried out with the help of the topolyzer. This topolyser is capable of marking more than 22,000 unique elevation points merely on the cornea. With the elevations, the irregularities are sought to be improved. Then the surface is smoothened so that the visual quality and the sharpness can be enhanced.

What is the primary difference between contoura vision and Lasik surgery?

  • How old are these?

We are not unaware of the fact that the Lasik surgery is about 15 years old. But the contoura vision has just come to its origin. It is the updated and the latest version of the Lasik surgery.

  • Elimination of the irregularities

Lasik surgery cannot help to eliminate irregularities concerning the cornea. But the contoura vision can do.

  • The difference in the placement

Lasik Surgery works on the Pupil axis, whereas contoura vision works on the visual axis which is also known as the superior axis.

  • Tissue Saving

The maximum corneal tissue saving is possible in contoura vision. With the Lasik surgery, this saving is belittled.

  • Bladeless or Blade-free

The Lasik surgery may or may not be bladeless, but the contoura vision is surely bladeless.

  • Approach

The contoura vision follows the fully automated approach but the LASIK surgery follows the mechanized keratome procedure.

Final Comments!

In this blog, we have gotten acquainted with basic aspects of contoura vision. If you want to get facilitated with the advanced information, then please let us know. We shall try to talk about the series of the carry-forwarded blog.

If you take shower, do swimming then there are high chances of getting an eye infection. So, it is better that you avoid these things for at least 2 weeks. Do not rub the eyes with a towel.

  • Do not drive

Driving is suggested to be avoided for at least 2 days after the surgery. Before you start driving, ask the doctor whether it is safe or not. If the eyes are not healed, then you won’t be allowed to drive.
