Does it happen – LASIK does not come out successful in the first attempt?

    October 4, 2021 3347 Views

Did you know?

The Lasik Surgery in Punjab has emerged out to be a boon for those who were so much dependent on their contact lenses and the glasses to see clearly.

Mitra Hospital Is Proud

The doctors at Mitra hospital are proud to say that they have successfully achieved the target of satisfying more than 97% of the patients.

The patients who have undergone surgery from our Eye Hospital in Punjab never face the need to take that up again.

Case Studies

Case Study: 01

Sometimes It’s Not A Lasik Failure

What bothered the patient?

One of our patients named Shirodhara who aged 30 years visited us. She underwent LASIK surgery from some other eye-care centre. She approached us to get a second opinion as she was not satisfied with the procedure. We found the reason why she was dissatisfied and found that she had a residual minor number of -0.65 in both eyes. She told us that the number was -6 for both eyes before the procedure.

What did we find out?

After a thorough examination of her reports, we found out that the LASIK reports were completely fine and it was certainly not a LASIK Failure.

What did we suggest?

We did not feel the need to undergo the procedure all over again. And we hoped for things to get better with the lubrication only. And It happened.

Conclusion

Fluctuations in the Vision immediately after undergoing the Lasik procedure is completely normal. Sometimes, it is just patience that is required. It may or may not take one month for the vision to get normalised

Case Study: 02

Exceptional Case

What happened to him?

There was another patient of yours whose name was Magan. HE aged 35 years old. About a year and a half ago, he took up Lasik surgery. But recently he started facing the blurriness in the vision. He was disappointed with the clinic that performed the surgery and when to use it to get the right solution for it.

What did we find out?

On examining him, we found out that his right and the left eye were having reduced numbers of about -1.0D and -1.25D respectively. Nothing can be done other than performing the LASIK procedure again. To carry out the second Lasik surgery, we performed all the diagnosis tests on him.

How did we carry out the surgery?

The same old flap was tried to be lifted with the help of special instruments. With the help of the excimer laser, the flap bed was lifted following the eye power. After that, the flap was repositioned. Immediately after the completion of the surgery, the patient was listed with several dos and don’ts.

Conclusion

In exceptional cases, the patients may need to take up the LASIK Surgery all over again. And those exceptional cases only happen if you count on the unprofessional and non-trained doctors for undergoing the surgical procedure.
