Eye treatment in Punjab

In some individuals, it is normal to experience vision or eye-related issues like nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism. For all these issues, refractive surgery is the best choice for the patients. If you are diagnosed with any sort of eye problem or you are noticing any change in your vision, then you need to schedule your initial consultation at the best Eye Hospital Punjab. Lasik Surgery in Punjab is the most preferred type of surgery for the patients to feel better and deal with the vision problem for once & all.

What is LASIK?

LASIK is known as ‘Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis’. It is a type of laser eye surgery that is effective for addressing vision-related issues. During the surgery, the cornea is reshaped which allows the light to enter the right place giving you clear vision. In total, it takes around 15 to 20 minutes to do the surgery. It does not cause any pain and is one of the effective surgical options to correct vision.

What are the types of LASIK Surgery?

LASIK surgery has different types, and depending on your condition, the surgeon will suggest you the best choice:

  • LASIK

LASIK is one of the most popular options in which a hinged flap is created by using a sterile blade. Following that, the surgeon will use a laser which helps in removing the cornea’s thin layer.

  • IntraLASIK

IntraLASIK surgery uses the laser to cut & reshape the cornea. It means, there is no use of blades in this procedure.

  • Wavefront LASIK

One of the advanced methods in which 3d scan is used and the technique of doing this is accurate. The results of this procedure will allow you to have 20/20 vision after the procedure.

What happened before the LASIK surgery?

Initially, the doctor will check your eyes to better evaluate your eye health and whether you are a suitable candidate for the surgery or not. The eye doctor will check the following:

  • Pupil size
  • Cornea shape
  • Eye cornea thickness
  • Refractive errors
  • Eye moistness
  • Any other eye condition

The doctor will share certain guidelines which you have to follow before the surgery so that when you undergo the surgery there is not an issue.

What happens during LASIK surgery?

The doctor will inject local anesthesia that helps in reducing any discomfort or any medication. Once the eyes become numb, under the laser the eyes will be positioned, and the eyelid is kept open with the use of a lid speculum instrument. To prevent eye movement, the doctor will use a suction ring.

On the flap creation and peeling it back, the surgeon will use the laser to adjust it properly. The doctor will ask you to look at the light for some time, and the surgeon will see that under the light. Following that, the corneal tissue is shaped again, and the flap is put back.

What about the LASIK surgery outcome?

Healing is rapid. For the first few days, the vision is hazy or blurry. In most cases, the patient has a clear and improved vision within a few days of the surgery. Moreover, the need for contact lenses and glasses are not needed.

If you want to undergo the surgery, then get in touch with our eye expert to plan for the treatment for your condition.
